About Omyte

At Omyte, our mission is to enable people to take back control over their screen time use and their relationship with technology. Every year rates of anxiety and depression rise, especially among teenagers and adolescents, we created Omyte to fight back at this trend as we believe high screen time use correlating with social media is a primary cause of this.

Technology is getting harder to use responsibly as recommendation algorithms and AI get better at serving us personalized content and advertisements that are meant to keep us engaged and to continue using their platforms. The emotionally potent back and forth of content exploits our emotional circuits making us feel anxious when we are not engaging with it and blinding us to our inner emotional state. This conditioning has led to young people spending on average 7 hours on their phone a day.

The mental health implications of this are still being researched but one thing is for certain, spending the majority of your day on the internet where reality is twisted according to the algorithm can't be good for your mental health. In a time when people long for genuine connection a collective reality is key.

Our approach is utility and user-experience oriented. We strive to make our products useful and easy-to-use tools that help your autonomy, accelerate your productivity, and keep your emotional state undisturbed. Omyte is meant to be a tool that is genuinely useful and does not try to sell your data or serve you ads. Our goal is clear and simple - to make technology use intentional and independent again.

Block apps according to your preferences. Set timers. Take care of your inner self with introspection and meditation reminders. Journal your thoughts. Customize those functions as you see fit. All in one place - Omyte.
